Our Story.
When my family and I first moved into our home, we started with a few weathered raised beds that were left behind by the previous owners. We utilized those our first year and had so much fun with it that we decided to rip out the beds and till up the entire garden area so we could make best use of all of the space... all 1200 sq ft worth. It's not always "pretty" but it is practical and productive! We do not use any pesticides or chemicals on our property, so weeds (often) grow alongside our food, but we prefer that because it's what we feed our family with!
When our first big garden really took off, I quickly realized that I needed to learn how to preserve our harvest so very little would go to waste. I fell in love with the entire process - from preparing the ingredients to seeing them transformed into something beautiful and delicious, and especially, sharing them with others.
We harvest one small batch and at time, and we've learned that you don't need acres of land to grow something meaningful.
Everything I make for the Garden Shed is carefully made from simple ingredients using recipes I love to share with my family. Whether it's a jar of homemade jam, a handcrafted syrup, or a seasonal treat, my goal is to bring a little homemade goodness to your table.
I hope you'll follow along as The Garden Shed grows & changes and discover things that you'll love sharing with your own family.
Thank you for your support and choosing to shop small. :)
